Overview

What is Google Analytics 4?

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is Google's free analytics platform for websites and apps. A small tag on your site sends every visit, page view and event to a GA4 property, and Google turns them into reports on who your visitors are, where they came from and what they did.

What does it do?

  • Counts every visit

Sessions, users and page views for every page, and which channel brought them: organic search, paid ads, social, email or direct.

  • Tracks conversions

Events such as purchases, sign-ups and form submissions, with the revenue attached.

  • Shows what is happening now

Live activity on the site, and funnels, user paths and segments in Explorations.

  • Shares its numbers

The same data flows to Google Ads, Search Console and Trackian.

What GA4 adds to Trackian

Trackian reads your GA4 property four times a day: sessions, users, conversions and revenue by channel, campaign, landing page and device. Those numbers sit next to your ad spend and store orders on one timeline, so a drop in organic traffic or a broken checkout shows up where it hurts, not three tabs away.

What you get

  • Traffic next to spend

Sessions, conversions and revenue per channel and campaign in the Performance and Attribution screens.

  • Sentinel on watch

Patterns that check sessions, conversion rate and tracking health every night.

  • A GA4 audit

Missing events, untagged campaigns and wrong attribution settings on your property, found for you.

  • An agent that can answer

Read access through Trackian's MCP, so your AI agent can explain why conversions dropped on Tuesday.

Before you connect

You need a Google account with at least Viewer access on the GA4 property. Pick the property (the G- measurement ID), not the account above it. Universal Analytics properties are retired by Google and cannot be connected.
